The Owner


A life long music person, Michael Lockett has performed, produced, recorded, written, tutored, marketed, promoted and retailed R&B, Gospel, Country, Blues, Jazz, Hip-hop, Southern Soul, Zydeco and Reggae.

He brings this wealth of experience and knowledge to Lockdowne Records. As a keyboardist, producer, songwriter, engineer and executive, Lockett’s albums, tapes, and CD credits span over 30 years and over 300 projects.

The relationships Michael has grown through the years with radio, distributors, Mom and Pop record stores and countless artist are also priceless.

At Southern University, Mike studied under the tutelage of the renowned late great music professor Alvin Batiste. It was during this time he studied and performed with such greats as American Idol’s Randy Jackson, sax jazz great Branford Marsalis and many more.

Working and residing in major music markets such as Los Angeles, Atlanta, New Orleans and others. Lockett’s music travels has taken the Southwest Louisianan to 48 states and many foreign countries
